This work is about emotional afterimages — the strange way people sometimes remain inside us more intensely after they disappear.

I was interested in the psychological experience of absence becoming visually louder than presence itself. Certain memories begin transforming emotionally over time. They become exaggerated, fragmented, brighter, more cinematic, more emotionally distorted than reality ever was.

The figure inside the work feels unstable, dissolving between memory, attraction, exhaustion, and emotional projection. I wanted the composition to feel emotionally overheated, almost like a memory replaying itself too many times inside the mind.

The sharp contrasts and saturated colors create tension between desire and emotional fatigue. Beneath the visual intensity there is loneliness, overstimulation, and the attempt to preserve something that already emotionally disappeared.

For me, this painting exists somewhere between longing and emotional hallucination. Between what truly happened and what the mind continues creating afterward.
