This work is about desire, projection, and the strange human tendency to confuse the symbol with the meaning itself.
The title references an old philosophical idea: when someone points toward the sky, the naive observer focuses on the finger instead of what is being revealed beyond it. For me, this painting speaks about the inability to see essence when we are hypnotized by surfaces, appearances, roles, or bodies.
The female figure becomes both a subject of desire and a mirror of perception. She exists in a space where sensuality is no longer innocent, because desire itself changes the way we see the world. The body here is not passive. It carries awareness, irony, vulnerability, and power at the same time.
I was inspired by the idea that color itself can be born through emotion.
There is a myth that roses were once white until they blushed under the gaze of love and shame. I became interested in this transformation the exact moment when innocence becomes consciousness, and consciousness becomes desire.
The work balances tenderness and provocation.
It asks whether we truly look at each other deeply, or whether we only remain trapped in symbols and projections created by our own longing.
“Beauty is nothing, beauty won’t stay.”
— Virginia Woolf
The work explores femininity not as decoration, but as emotional intelligence and psychological presence. The visual language remains playful and direct, while underneath it lies tension between intimacy, observation, and the performance of desire.
