A field of poppies, a bouquet left in sunlight, a flower changing color before it fades. Their beauty never stays for long. They bloom intensely, almost emotionally, and then slowly disappear. Even after being cut and brought home, they survive only a few days before beginning to fade. I became fascinated by this fragile tension between beauty and disappearance.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWith this series I wanted to preserve a feeling that could not physically remain.Not to paint flowers realistically, but to hold onto the emotional impression they leave behind.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe expressive brushstrokes and almost oversized forms make the flowers feel emotionally alive rather than botanical.
